Knitting 101 — Fingerless Gloves for Beginners

Learn to Knit from Your First Stitch

Learn the joy of knitting – one stitch at a time.
If you’ve ever wanted to knit but didn’t know where to start, this friendly three-session course is made for you.
Together we’ll cast on, knit, cast off, and seam a simple pair of cosy fingerless gloves using Rowan Big Wool – the perfect yarn for beginners.
By the end, you’ll have a finished project, a new skill, and the confidence to keep going.

Course Format

  • Three live 1.5-hour Zoom sessions

  • Small group (max 12) for plenty of feedback

  • Replay access after each session

  • Materials list sent on sign-up
    (We recommend Rowan Big Wool and 10 mm needles.)

This fabulous interactive workshop can be delivered online and comes with some fabulous handouts to demystify socks.

We cover the anatomy of a sock, how to get a perfect fit, which heel is best for me, how do I knit in the round and of course the dreaded Second Sock Syndrome!!

Want to learn to knit but not sure if it's for you?

Stuck on a project and would like some one off help?

These one off sessions are perfect!

For your first time knitting we will cover the basics of tying a slip knot, casting on, Knit, Purl and casting off.

In Person Classes are held in Durtal, France (49430) or at a location of your choice within half an hour of Durtal and can include a starter materials kit.

Online Classes are perfect for knitters further afield who want some project help - these are held over zoom and recorded so you can watch them again!
